Church Day

Hey Everyone,

I thought I'd attempt to show you what Sundays are like here. For me church involves two differnt services on two different sides of Bangkok. The first service is at a church called ECB this is an awesome internationally diverse church. The sturcture is not unlike what you'd see in america, worship, tithe and a message(really good). It's a pretty cool place, espicially since I can understand every word being spoken, and it's so similar to what I see in the US.

So yeah I enjoy coming here and I think you would if you came to Bangkok.

So I started my journey to Bangjak Baptist church in on the BTS station Nana. Then I caught a cab when I got to On Nut station(pronouced oon noot) they look like this

Pretty cool huh? Pink is seriously a popular color here so get used to it if you ever visit. So once I arrive at Bangjak I am presently surprised to see quite a lot of people in a humble store front.

Do you see those guys in front of me? Yup they are black people! I'm not alone, even in Bangkok! Service was awesome and it was translated in a very dynamic way. The pastor who is American speaks in Thai and a Thai who speaks English translates for the farang(foreigners), then this church had quite a large ministry for the deaf so it's also translated again into Thai sign language(not the same as ASL). Pretty cool huh? I love this place and I'm praying everything works out so I can get involved in a more extensive way here.

So that's church for today I'll try to do a better job next time of explaining everything and I will also do a day of deaf soccer ministry adventure for you guys.

See ya!

Thailand Adventure Day Pt. 2

Hey All

So again I'm writing to tell you what I've discovered today, maybe I'll re-edit and put this in my first post. Anyway, I'm currently in MBK which happens to be another mall near the Saim BTS stop in bangkok. I love this mall because it's cheap to both eat and shop(I got two pairs of shorts today for 750 baht that's like under $22). I love the food court here! You can pretty much get anything you want for under 100 baht total with drinks. It's great and you can see pretty intersting food out on display for example this

I actually wasn't supposed to take that and shortly thereafter a security guard attempted to remove my iPhone from my person. Fail for him! I'm not giving this thing up! It's like my passport only more expensive and less important...anyway the point I'm trying to make is MBK is awesome and I really like it.

Bye bye!

Thai Adventure Day

Hey All,

So since I've been here in Thailand I'm starting to break free of my tour guide and strike out on my own. It's been really good for me I'm seeing all these things here in Bangkok. It's pretty cool, today I decided to visit all three large malls that are around the Siam BTS stop. So far I have not been dissapointed. It's pretty amazing that the malls here in Thailand put to shame even the luxury malls in my home city of Portland, OR.

The picture above is from a mall called Central World, It's really nice. Unfortunately it's not as cheap as some of it's counterparts here in Bangkok. At Central World you pretty much all the same stores plus a lot of high end boutiques and the ability to sit and chill anywhere without feeling like a complete bum because 90% of the people here are just stealing air conditioning and having a break. I love it! I'm so glad I'm not the only cheapskate here!

See ya!
